Jeffrey Rautio, O.D.

Dr. Jeffrey Rautio, a graduate of the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University, has been delivering expert optometric eye care for more than three decades. In addition to providing LASIK, LASEK, and cataract surgery pre-operative and post-operative care, Dr. Rautio has been committed to advancing eye care practices and providing relief for patients suffering from conditions such as dry eye disease, glaucoma, and diabetes. Dr. Rautio also provides vision and medical eye exams for our adult and pediatric population of patients at Adelson Eye & Laser Center.

One standout moment in his impressive career was his appointment as Team Optometrist for the Detroit Lions football team in 1991, where he spent nine years ensuring optimal vision and eye care for players, coaches, and support personnel.

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Rautio enjoys pursuing interests in golf and business development. Notably, he served as the President and Founder of an Internet-based golf tee-time booking service, WorldWide TeeTime, and he was elected to the Board of Directors of Pro Golf of America, a golf franchising company. Further, he spent two years as President of Enercorp, Inc., a Business Development Company (BDC) under the SEC 1940 Act.

His significant contributions to the field include dozens of presentations, publications, and lectures to the optometric and ophthalmology community. His work focuses on process flow and continuous improvement initiatives for optometric and ophthalmology practices, development and management of ophthalmology and optometric programs for refractive surgery and cataract patients, and advanced dry eye and glaucoma diagnosis, treatment, and therapy.
