Howard Adelson, D.O., is the founder of Adelson Eye & Laser Center as well as Adelson Cosmetics. Howard was born and raised in metro Detroit. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and went on to complete his osteopathic medical degree from Des Moines University-Osteopathic Medical Center. Howard then went on to complete his internship at Botsford General Hospital and his ophthalmology residency at Metropolitan Hospital-Michigan State University. Dr. Adelson then completed a prestigious fellowship in vision correction and cataract surgery at Michigan State University, something very few eye surgeons possess. In addition, he pursued further education and general opthalmology courses at Stanford University.
Dr. Adelson has been featured on Fox News Live, WGVU radio in Grand Rapids and 95.5 with MOJO in the morning. Dr. Adelson strives to teach others as a National guest lecturer for ophthalmologists, teaching refractive surgery techniques as well as a resident educator at Michigan State University. Dr. Adelson is a member of the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Michigan Ophthalmological Society, American Osteopathic Association, Michigan Osteopathic Association and the Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
Howard is an adventure enthusiast and enjoys boating, water sports, working out and spending time with his son Shae and twin daughters, Tori and Savannah.
