Facial Laser Resurfacing
The future is here with new technology in skin resurfacing with the MiXto SX®. Combining the effectiveness of Carbon Dioxide lasers for wrinkle removal with an innovative “quadrant” fractional technology and a more tightly focused beam, theMiXto SX® laser delivers uniform tissue ablation to the skin causing immediate contraction and tissue tightening. Treatment
Dr. Adelson will discuss the areas of the skin you will have treated as well as what results you can expect. The laser can safely be used on the face, neck, chest and hands. Usually a single treatment provides satisfying results. If desired, a second treatment can be scheduled 12 weeks after initial treatment.
The MiXto SX® treatment is done in the comfort of Dr. Adelson’s Northville office. The areas to be treated are thoroughly washed and dried prior to treatment. Dr. Adelson will then give a mild topical anesthetic. During treatment, you will feel a warm sensation on the skin.
Post Treatment
You will have a slight burning sensation similar to a sunburn which can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours. Your skin will show a fine pinpoint like pattern as a result of the therapeutic beams. The pattern will disappear in 24-48 hours and your skin will have a tanned appearance. Makeup can be applied and patients can return to normal routine.
Day 3-5 after treatment: the top layer of skin will peel during normal washing, revealing newly rejuvenated skin with improved color and texture.
Day 5-6 after treatment: The peel will be complete in most cases. Avoid sun exposure for 3 months and apply an SPF 30 block each day. You will see continued reduction of fine lines and wrinkles over the next 6 months as new collagen is produced.
